Joe is always there for Jill. He puts himself in uncomfortable situations to support Jill. There were times he questioned why he was even there because it felt unwarranted. But, Joe being the good person he is, he was still there. Even when Jill said, “I never said you had to be there.” Joe knew though, Jill needed him there.
One thing after another, Joe was there. Not always smiling but you must give him credit, he was still there.
All the sudden, one day, Jill no longer needed Joe. Jill had someone else. Someone who hasn’t really been there but is available now. So Jill takes it, Jill appreciates there is someone else who is there for her now.
Joe feels like there is no need to be there any longer. Why put himself out when it’s clearly not a necessity anymore. Joe lets her know that – since she’s going to be taken care of, there is no need for Joe to be there. Jill accepts and understands, no big deal.
Win – Win right? Jill thinks so. But Joe, he’s left to feel a little irritated on how quickly Jill dismissed him when she had someone else. Joe was always there during those big moments, and now, it no longer matters. He didn’t know his presence, his comfort and support was so replaceable.
Joe, has been slapped in the face. He feels pretty shitty.
“Oh well. it is what it is.” says Joe.
Do you feel his pain? Hope you enjoyed my random post. We all get shitted on once and awhile right? 🙂
