Self Publishing My First Poetry Book and Why It Took So Long

After a year of hesitation, I am finally doing it! There are plenty of reasons why I waited so long…BUT…truth be told…what it comes down to is self-doubt. After all, I’ve been through, all I have accomplished…I waiver in self-worth. When “you’re not enough” is embedded in you as a young child, it’s not easy breaking free. A story I’ve been harboring deep inside my entire life it seems.

So, I posted a video about why it took me so long to bite the bullet. After watching it and listening to my many reasons, I sat down and marinated on it.

I was able to get to the core of why and where it began. It’s what I stated above ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Conditioning, Self-doubt, plain old childhood drama that stayed with me. My brain loves to play tricks on me. Like, you’re over it. You’ve dealt with it. You’ve healed. But then, the subconscious mind says, “but Roacilynn, your actions don’t prove it.” 🤔

How many more “oops, I did it again” can we go through? I suppose plenty. Some of us maybe even our whole lives. Not me. I refuse to. Shall I talk a little astrology? OK…Saturn square Pluto cycle, it’s conjunction (meeting up) January 2020. That cycle lasted about 35 years and it’s ending. Now, we’re at the new beginning stages of another 35-year cycle. Did I confuse you? Lol 2020 is a year of massive change. We all have an opportunity to create new karma. A new life in the form of who we truly are. I can’t think of a better time to let go of all the old stories and start new ones.

This is so fitting for the Scorpio new moon happening now. The Phoenix has risen (me 😁). I feel like a lot of us are rebirthing into who we’re meant to be now. We’re stepping into our light. Sure, there are still some insecurities. I think we are all at times insecure about something. Growth happens when we push through to the other side.

Ask yourself, are you letting the noise of others hold you back? If so, how much longer do you plan on keeping the chains on? YOU, my friend…hold the key.

Don’t waste any more time. Go after the life you want. Be authentic to who you are ❣️
